Welcome to the consultation website for the redevelopment of Becket House, 60 St. Thomas Street.

The site

The site is located on St. Thomas Street and is bordered by Melior Street and Weston Street. The site is made up of a 1980's office building of low architectural quality with a service yard located to the rear of the building. The existing building is currently occupied by a Home Office Immigration Centre. The site is in need of redevelopment and has been identified as part of the wider regeneration area along St. Thomas Street by Southwark Council.

The Team

The site is owned by Columbia Threadneedle Investments (CTI), a Global Asset Management business with a portfolio of UK Real Estate assets that has been active in the UK since 1994. Columbia Threadneedle has a long term interest in the site and are committed to delivering a high quality redevelopment that will benefit the local community and the borough. The proposals are being designed by award winning architects, Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, who have extensive experience working on large scale development across Southwark and Central London.

Community engagement

Thank you to everyone who attended our public consultation on Saturday 19th and Monday 21st January 2019. The consultation was attended by over 80 local residents and key stakeholders.

We were encouraged by the feedback received from the community particularly in relation to the principle of redeveloping the site, provision of new public open space and landscaping as well as the flexible commercial space within the building.

We are currently reviewing all of the feedback received from the consultation.

Columbia Threadneedle will continue to work closely with our neighbouring landowners to deliver proposals for exciting new public realm and active ground floor along St. Thomas Street that will link with the development of London Bridge and make a positive contribution to the local community.

A public exhibition on the plans for the St. Thomas Street East Collective was held on Saturday 29th September and Monday 1st October. The exhibition was well attended by local residents and stakeholder groups and we were encouraged by the feedback on our initial plans for the redevelopment of Becket House.
